Salespeople Staying Pumped Up in Sagging Times

No, this blog is not about cosmetic surgery.  It’s about how to stay motivated when you are feeling down in your career. For people in sales, like me, we go through the ups and downs of prospecting  and closing sales every day.  So how can we look up when things are down?  Think about these winning thoughts from some of my favorite sales training speaker friends:

Jim Rohn, CPAE - “Remember, there have never been two consecutive winters.”   How often do we think spring will never come? Spring out of your funk and start closing sales today!

Zig Ziglar, CSP, CPAE – “Timid salespeople have skinny kids.”  Ain’t that the truth!  ASK for the sale! Most salespeople stop after the first ask.  Real success comes on the 5th ask!

Bill Brooks, CSP, CPAE - “80% of the sales are produced by 20% of the salespeople.  But, 65% of all sales are made by the top 5% of all salespeople.” Are you in the top 5%?  Make that  a goal for 2011!

Jeffrey Gitomer, CSP, CPAE – “All things being equal, people want to do business with their  friends. All things not being equal, people STILL want to do business with their friends.” Do you know your customers and prospects well enough they consider you a friend? If  not, work on it!
